| How to Put FirearmNews.com's Headlines On Your Website |
You can display the headlines from FirearmNews on your site, for free! Our headlines are updated daily, every day, and your visitors will be seeing the very latest in firearm-related news from around the globe. You can format it to make it look however you wish (see below). To make it appear exactly like it does on the right, you'll need to add the following code to your page:

note: this page was designed to show the HTML, but the SRC (source) URL should be on one line with no spaces between characters.

The HTML that is sent to the browser includes Cascading Style Sheet (CSS) style definitions, which you can optionally use. Here's an example of a style sheet (in fact, this is the actual style sheet that is used to format the working example above):

The CSS sheet above changes the appearance of the font used for each "newsitem,"
the font used for the "news description," if you are showing the first paragraph of the news story, the "news modification date" and the "description" of FirearmNews.com at the end of the news feed. If you want to use style sheets, you'll need to add a "style sheet" to your HTML page, within the HEAD tags of your HTML page (see example). You can use the following style sheet attributes. There are also several parameters you can use to change the way the headlines are displayed. You use these parameters by adding an ampersand, (&) the parameter itself, then an equal sign, (=) then the value you want the parameter to take. Each parameter is shown below with an example. The code above already includes several such parameters (and yes, you can change them).
If you specify a bg parameter in the URL you can change the color of the table header background, e.g.
"000000" will give you a black background to the table header. Here are examples of other color backgrounds.
If you specify a border parameter, you can change the border size of the table, e.g.
Here is an example of a different border style.
If you specify a limit parameters in the request you can limit the number of stories you get, e.g.
will give you just 10 stories (or less if that's all there is). Here is another example.
If you specify a &feedtype=noTable you get essentially the same HTML but using DIV tags instead of a table.
Here is an example of using a DIV feed without a table.
If you specify &short=true then (if practical) you'll get just the title and links, not the descriptive text (as in the live example at the top of the page).
If you specify &short=false then you'll get the title and links, as well as the descriptive text. Click here to see such an example.
To put the most basic version on your site, with no tinkering required, you can simply add the following code to your site wherever you want the headlines to appear:
